Starting Salary $12.80 – $14.20 per hour: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
Set up and support of Health Professions Lab experiences before, during, and/or after classroom hours (60%):
- Under the direction of the Health Lab Coordinator, will set up Health Professions course labs, clinical skill practice labs, skill competency testing sessions, and other faculty-identified laboratory learning experiences.
- Under the direction of the Health Lab Coordinator and Simulation Educator, assist with setting up simulators, patient care manikins, and task training manikins to support learning experiences; for example: Juno, SimBaby, Nursing Annie and Nursing Kelly manikins, Noelle birthing simulator, Hal pediatric simulators, IV arms and blood pressure arms for simulation sessions.
Set up, cleaning, and maintenance of CPR equipment, storage room, and designated training classrooms to support Lifelong learning discipline.
- Assist Health Lab Coordinator to maintain an inventory of all equipment and supplies in the Health Professions Lab.
- Anticipate supply and material replacement needs and communicate with Health Lab Coordinator and Simulation Educator Learning Specialist.
- Clean and maintain Health Professions Lab equipment and facilities under direction of the Health Lab Coordinator.
- Properly store supplies, equipment, and materials used in the Health Professions lab.
- Properly collect, receive, deliver, inventory, and replace linens under the direction of the Health Lab Coordinator.
- Ensure safe and proper disposal of sharps and bio-hazards materials under the direction of the Health Lab Coordinator and Simulation Educator Learning Specialist.
- Communicate regularly with Health Lab Coordinator, Simulation Educator Learning Specialist, and faculty teaching in the Health Professions Lab.
- Communicate with Health professions students to assist in securing rooms/supplies for open lab experiences.
Answer office telephone, direct calls, and take messages for Health Professions Lab services.
- High school diploma or GED
- Certificate in health field: CNA or MA
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work as a team member
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
Proficient in use of technology: personal computer, Microsoft Office products, internet
- Retired MA/LPN/RN
